Christopher S. Centi, "CtheRocketMan"

Hello and welcome to my site.  My name is Chris Centi also known as “C the Rocket Man”,  My mission is to motivate and excite kids and adults about the cool wonders of science.  I use Astronomy, Space Exploration and hands-on sensory interactions to get my students interested and understand science concepts.  For over 38 years, I have presented entertaining, educational and empowering space science programs to diverse audiences ranging from ages 5 to 95.  I have also presented workshops and in-services for teachers, other professionals and parents.  As a speaker, author and science advocate, I concentrate on the hands-on approach and interaction with audiences to encourage an appreciation of the importance of science, its usefulness in everyday life and Outer Space as one of our new frontiers.

Since 1985 I have been an Astronomy & Space Science Educator and CEO of Centi Astro-Space Activities (CASA).  I was instrumental in developing and building the planetarium for the Lucile M. Wright Air Museum in Jamestown, NY. and served as the Planetarium Director from November 2012 to December 2016.

My research interests include studying exoplanets and the search for life elsewhere, the psychological implications of long term space exploration and diversity, equality, equity and inclusion in the STEM/STEAM fields.  I have authored various articles relating to Astronomy and Space Science and actively give presentations to various groups using the hands-on approach.  In the past I have taught various kids college courses in Astronomy and Space Science and also had appearances on TV advocating hands-on science.  I am available to speak at various venues on my research.  More information can be found by viewing the "SPEAKING" page.
